When my first son was two and could recognize most of the alphabet, he then began to show an interest in letter sounds. So this very positive review is a result of good, old-fashioned consumer satisfaction from a grateful homeschool mom. I recommend this video to everyone I know with preschoolers.I don’t want to overstate things but… LeapFrog Letter Factory taught my kids to read!īut in all seriousness, I can’t think of any other single educational DVD that has been so effective or so requested in our household.Ī DISCLAIMER: LeapFrog doesn’t know I exist and I haven’t received any products from them other than ones bought fair and square. A funny little monster pops in, causing the little "a" letters to say their sound "a"! There is a little song "The a says "a", the a says "a", every letter makes a sound, the a says "a"! For example, in the "a" room, all the little "a" letters are in a classroom. The premise is a little frog, Tad, going to the Letter Factory where his dad works, and visiting all the little letters learning their sounds.

When we are ready to start official Kindergarten in our homeschool, our children are already reading at a late Kindergarten to First Grade Level, all from only watching these two videos. My children have taught themselves to read at a first grade level by this video, along with the next in the series, LeapFrog: Talking Words Factory. This, in addition to clearly presented concepts of letter sounds, makes it a fun, easy way for preschoolers to learn their basic letter sounds. This video, in my opinion, is the best video for preschoolers when it comes to learning letter sounds and learning to read. Lord knows I could use some "quiet" time every now and then.īest Preschool Video - LeapFrog: Letter Factory Thankfully, LeapFrog remembered the whole issue with noise control and included a volume adjuster for it. Here's an item that'll earn ya one up on the other Grands.(smile)My daughters had the spotlight at Nana's office!! Everyone was so impressed to hear them sing."a says aah, b says buh, c says cuh, and d says duh".and so on, all the way to letter Z!īy the way.not to sound like a mini ad for LeapFrog or anything, but I think the Fridge Phonics gave them a nice lil' headstart on letter/phonics recognition. We all know how you Grands just loooove to brag about the grandchildren. It is definately something every grandparent should consider buying, too.

It includes a recognition game in the menu so that they learn to match the letter sound with the letter itself. She was also able to recall their sounds without the visual portion as well which, of course, made Mommy sooo proud!. Even my 2-yr-old was able to recognize the entire alphabet and knew their sounds by the 4th time she watched the dvd. It did wonders for them with recognizing letters and their phonics. I bought this product actually as a gift for my nephew, who reportedly, loves it and is driving my ("big")sister crazy playing it over and over and over again!!! Ha,ha, ha, ha, ha I knew someday, somehow I'd get revenge!LOL I originally purchased this dvd in the stores for my daughters 2 and 4 years old.
